GROOMING FAQ

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GROOM MY DOG?

Most grooms take between 2-4 hours or more. The length of time for the grooming process depends on a number of factors: breed, size of dog, coat condition, temperament, and age of dog.

DO YOU KEEP DOGS ALL DAY?

We do not keep dogs all day. Upon drop off you will be advised what time to pick up your dog. We also extend a 30 minute courtesy alert of completion of your dog's groom to give you ample of time for pick up preparation.

We understand unforeseen circumstances may arise from time to time. We ask that you notify us so adjustments to our schedule can be be made. If you fail to notify us and you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be charged an additional fee.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES?

Our pricing is based on a variety of factors: type of grooming package, breed, size of dog, coat condition, temperament, age of dog, and style requests. Contact us for a quote and/or to book an assessment/meet & greet.

WHAT DOES BREED SPECIFIC STYLING OR HAND-SCISSORING MEAN?

Breed specific styling are styles and cuts that were designed for a specific breed (think about a Poodle cut). Typically, this kind of request will require quite a lot of hand scissoring to ensure the proper look and feel. If you request this kind of style, please be aware that added time is required to accommodate this and your pricing will most likely be on the higher end of the scale. Contact us for more details if you are interested in this service.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer full groom, bath & tidy and bath packages for all dog breeds. We also offer services a la carte, so you can pick and choose specific services you need. Click here to check out our Services section for more details.

DO YOU BRUSH TEETH?

No, teeth brushing is not included in our grooming services. We believe that this care is a "daily" health routine best done regularly at home for optimum oral health. But if you wish to bring your toothbrush and toothpaste we can brush your dog's teeth during his or her grooming appointment.

DO YOU CRATE DRY?

We do have crate drying equipment, but these are rarely used. Most clients are hand dried and all dogs are supervised during the drying process. Rest assured, we take every precaution in caring for your dog.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DOG BE BATHED/GROOMED?

This question, as with most, really depends on the breed, coat type, and (your) your dog's lifestyle. For most breeds, we recommend a full groom every 4-8 weeks.

I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH ANOTHER GROOMER. I AM NOW CAUTIOUS TO BRING MY DOG IN. WILL MY DOG BE ALRIGHT?

There are a number of factors that may result in an unsatisfactory grooming experience. If you and/or your dog had a negative experience with another grooming salon, or even at home, please alert our groomers upon booking or drop-off. We believe transparent communication is key to ensure proper and compassionate handling of your dog. We believe in working together with you to ensure the safety of both your dog and our groomers.

MY DOG HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY AND/OR AGGRESSION ISSUES. WILL YOU BE ABLE TO GROOM THEM?

Rest assured that our staff members are very gentle and compassionate people who love dogs. We always do everything we can to ensure your dog is comfortable and have a positive grooming experience.

We encourage you to alert us and communicate to our groomers any behavioural issues or concerns your dog may have upon booking and drop off. We believe in working together with you to ensure the safety of both your dog and our groomers. Please see our Aggression/Anxiety Policy here.

CAN I STAY AND WATCH YOU GROOM MY DOG?

Dogs are attached to their humans, and can easily get excited upon getting even a slight glimpse of you. At this state of heightened excitement, it will take our groomers some time to calm your dog down. This may not only impact your dog's grooming experience, but will also delay the completion of the whole process.

We find that dogs behave better when their owners are not present. So we recommend that you drop off you dog and leave the salon for the allotted time.

WILL I GET AN APPOINTMENT REMINDER?

All clients have the option to request a reminder for their appointment via text or email. These reminder will be delivered 48 hours prior to your appointment.

AT WHAT AGE CAN I START GETTING MY PUPPY GROOMED PROFESSIONALLY?

We recommend for a puppy to see a professional groomer no later than 16 weeks of age. At this stage in life your puppy will still be trusting and willing to let strangers handle him/her. And it will be easy for your puppy to acclimate to strange noises and sensations.

Your puppy's first grooming appointment is his/her introduction (and yours) to the world of grooming. A puppy groom is all about the basics -- bath, blow drying, nail trimming, and slight trimming around eyes/pads/sanitary area (see Bath & Tidy). A full groom is not recommended because the length of time it takes to cut and style would be too much to ask of a puppy. Depending on how your puppy reacts to the first grooming, our groomers may recommend doing a puppy groom 1-2 more times before a full groom.
